Dumped Bachelor contestant Eliza St John left heartbroken but finds new lover

ELIZA St John was heartbroken when Richie Strahan sent her home roseless on The Bachelor. However, she’s got news on the love front to share.

ELIZA St John was convinced that Richie Strahan could be her perfect match during her time on The Bachelor.

So when he sent her home without a rose the 31-year-old event co-ordinator from Sydney she said the rejection came as a complete shock.

“I was a bit like, ‘Really? Now?’, St John said of the moment Strahan chose not to give her a rose.

“I was having so much fun with Richie and the whole experience that it was a strange feeling, it definitely came as a surprise.

“There were definite feelings there and he appeared as though he was embracing who I was.”

St John added “it took some time” to get over her hurt feelings but in the long run she has no regrets for how open she was with Strahan about her feelings.

“I spoke my heart, I spoke about my family, I danced, I sang, I showed every part of me and who I was,” she said.

“I could leave knowing that if he wasn’t picking up what I was putting down it’s all good because then I could go out and find that person who does embrace it.”

And find that person she did.

After nursing her hurt feelings for a couple of months after she finished filming, St John met her new boyfriend at a party.

While she declined to divulge the lucky guy’s name, she did admit she is smitten with her new love interest.

“I’m not ready to tell his name yet, it’s early days and I don’t want to jinx it,” she said.

“He’s really lovely and he’s embracing all of the queen of cray and he’s great. I’m crazy about him too.

“He’s been such a support over the past bizarre couple of months of The Bachelor (being on TV) so it’s been great.”
