The Traitors season 2

Think a mix of party games Cluedo and Werewolves, and you have some idea of how global smash hit The Traitors plays out.

Hosted by Rodger Corser, a band of Faithfuls, with Traitors lurking in their midst voting to murder them one-by-one, live together in a grand old hotel where they carry out challenges to win silver bars, contributing to the final prize kitty of $250,000.

There’s a mix of familiar and fresh reality faces in this second season.

Meet the 20 new Faithfuls – or Traitors – who are heading to the manor.

ASH, Vic

The repeat reality offender has cooked, danced with the stars, and survived her way to becoming a TV and radio personality, who is renowned for bluntly telling it like it is. The mum-of-two young daughters despises liars, but she’s keenly aware it will take more than little fibs to walk away with the silver, which will cover nappies and wipes for her babies “until forever”.

“I will do whatever it takes to win. If that means lie every single day, then I’ll do it.”

GYTON, Vic

Best known for his acting roles, particularly as Carl Williams in the original Underbelly series, he’s a big fan of strategy games and can’t wait to play. He’s not sure if his well-known career will be a help or a hindrance.

“People will probably assume I’m very good at lying but I see being an actor as trying to find the truth in things, so hopefully people can trust me.”

HANNAH, NSW

As one of the most popular people for five seasons as chief stew on Below Deck Mediterranean, she’s well-versed in how to read people from a variety of backgrounds. She’s used to being on TV, but now is a mum with a mortgage and responsibilities.

“I’m worried I might talk too much – I need to remember what my husband told me – not everything that goes in your head needs to come out of your mouth.”

Known for his strategic game play over two seasons on Australian Survivor, and for taking out Big Brother VIP, the now real estate agent is primed to cause havoc, and poised to stab people in the back.

“I want to make as many friends as possible to get people on my side … but if you look at me funny, I’m going to vote you out.”

SIMONE, Los Angeles

She’s Princess Aussie in her day job as a professional wrestler, and left her home on the Gold Coast when she was 16 and travelled the world before settling in LA. Simone’s used to hordes of hopefuls hustling for her spot.

“You have to always be on your game. So I feel like that will help me here because I won’t take anything on face value.”

With more than 2 million social media followers, the Tik Tokker, who transforms from dressing like Tina Turner to a pineapple, is the life of the party. As one of the original Indigenous content creators in Australia, he’s used to trolls so lying, murderous Traitors might just be a breeze.

My acting, playing dumb, controlling and using my emotions, with my personality will be my strengths in the game.”

PAUL, Los Angeles

The former elite soldier survived a bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour in 2009, which he says “was a pretty bad way to start the day”. He lost his right hand and hamstring on his right leg. He’s gone on to become an author, TV host and motivational speaker but plans to fly under the radar somewhat.

“I can be that grey man. I don’t need to be the leader, I can be the follower.”

The nurse who lives on a cattle station might be one of the oldest competitors at 61, but she’s not slowing down anytime soon – she swims, mountain bikes, runs cross country. Corrine’s relying on her well-honed “bullshit detector” to out the Traitors.

“I can relax among the chaos but not be chaos myself. I don’t think I’m going to have problems working out who’s not honest.”

BLAKE, Vic

The board games addict and bearded hipster is relying on his cheeky, double-dimpled smile and witty repartee to take him right to the end in the double-dealing, high-stakes show. He’ll use the funds to look after his mum who was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease.

“I have strong empathy that will allow me to uncover people’s true motives, or better manipulate the other contestants.”

She’s pretending she’s a Japanese tour guide, but she was actually a Federal Agent for almost two decades dealing with money laundering, people smuggling and drug importations. And the now stay-at-home mum of three, who is fluent in Japanese, is confident her observational abilities will mean she’ll bag the prize and be able to buy a campervan to take her kids on trips around Australia.

“(While my weakness is) overthinking it, I remain calm in high pressure situations.”

KEITH, Vic

This highly decorated ex-police officer might just have been born to play this game. He’s spent time undercover and negotiated hostage situations – not that he’s telling anyone that, instead he’s adopted the mantle as a retired corporate executive.

“(My biggest downfall) … I’m a people-person, so I need to draw on that experience and those training courses to overcome that.”

ANNABEL, Vic

There’s a touch of innocent Baby Spice around this former UK woman, but she’s absolutely no pushover. The massive Australian Survivor fan and uber Traitors’ devotee is a huge game player and she can read people.

“I have a real knack for knowing how other people see themselves – once you have this, you can start to understand … what you need to do to keep them happy. People don’t tend to murder you if you are keeping them happy.”

ELIAS, NSW

Dubbed Hannah Montana – for his double life as an influencer and corporate dispute manager – by his friends, he’s planning to keep his double degree in finance and marketing under wraps. He’s hoping other contestants will think he’s just there for fun and a boost in his profile.

“I’ve masterfully hidden two worlds from each other. I can hide anything.”

GLORIA, Vic

The part-time model and disability support worker has been tricking people for years, swapping places with her identical twin. She’s confident white lies will come easily to her should she be chosen as a Traitor.

“It is very interesting for me to be in this game because, as a Christian, we try not to lie but this is a game of lying and just knowing it’s a game, it’ll be OK. I know God understands.”

LIAM, Tas

The apprentice electrician grew up in small town, and he might just be more excited about his first time staying in a five-star hotel, than the game itself. And reckons people will discount him as young and dumb, and he’ll use that – and his gift of the gab – to his advantage.

“Being on the work site, I’ve learned a lot about what not to say and what to say.”

The reigning Miss International Australia is a corporate lawyer by day, pageant queen by night. She’s known as the Smiling Assassin or The Rainmaker – as in she brings in all of the money for her firm. If she wins, she’ll give the prize money to her mum.

“My skills as a lawyer are transferable to be my strengths on the Traitors. I am able to analyse situations in high pressure environments and I know how to negotiate to get what I want.”

PAEDEN, SA

The graphic designer has been playing strategy games his whole life, so heading into The Traitors is an absolute dream come true.

“Some people can act like they can read body language all day or manipulate people because they studied a Cert 4 in psychology or some other nonsense, but the reality is you really only get better at these things by repetition and actually playing them.”

The dancer and lover of luxury fashion is very in tune with his own body, and the body language of others. He’ll use his skills to analyse his fellow competitors, all the while spotting a potential enemy by their fashion sense.

“I can judge an untrustworthy person if they wear all black shoes with white socks. Do not come at me if you are wearing (that), it’s giving school kid.”

SARAH, SA

The clinical psychotherapist, who has worked in prisons, is the one people usually trust, but now she’s making up a fake career so that her fellow contestants won’t know she can sniff “out crap” with her spidey senses.

“When people meet me, they either love me and my energy or other people think I’m too much. I need to be playing myself but a little bit vanilla.”

SAM, Qld

He’s a marketing videographer travelling the world for international brands, but grew up in country NSW and spent weeks fighting the 2019 bushfires with his fellow volunteer firefighter dad and brother. He’s not going to be the good guy in The Traitors though.

“I can change my personality with the click of my fingers and I’m the best at arguments. And tricking people.
