Celebs spill some home truths in new doco series The Truth About Us

RUSSELL Crowe unveils his best-kept New York secret in new ten-part doco series The Truth About Us. And no, it’s not about that phone throwing incident.

THE pairings and names might not be immediately obvious, but that’s what makes new doco series The Truth About Us all the more appealing.

The series features some big-name Australian celebrities being interviewed alongside a close family member, friend or collaborator who may not have their name up in lights, but has been an important part of their lives.

And that’s what makes these pairings all the more precious.

The ten-part series kicks off tomorrow night with one of the biggest names in showbiz — Russell Crowe — alongside his on-set costumer and dresser, 72-year-old Mickey Castellano.

Crowe and the New Yorker have been mates and worked together for two decades since meeting in 1995.

For more a decade, Castellano travelled the world with Crowe for every film Crowe made.

The show is all the more valuable because it’s Castellano’s first ever interview.

Over the next ten weeks The Truth About Us and host Angela Pulvirenti will shine a light on other celebs and their treasured relationships, Jimmy Barnes and Michael Gudinski, Maggie Beer and Stephanie Alexander, Claudia Karvan and Rev. Graham Long, Kat Stewart and writer/director/actor Ailsa Piper, Tim Farriss and Chris Murphy and Guy Pearce and musician Tim Neal.
