Bonnie Lythgoe says ex husband Nigel wants her back but she’s not interested

BONNIE Lythgoe revealed on I’m A Celebrity her ex-husband, Nigel, wants her back but she’s not interested, drawing on rumours of past infidelities.

BONNIE Lythgoe says her ex-husband, Nigel, wants her back but she’s not interested.

“He wasn’t going to give up, he wants me back,” Lythgoe, 66, revealed to campmates Jo Beth Taylor and Anthony Callea on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

“I was very unhappy. There was so many things. Nigel was away a lot. There was just hurt on top of hurt on top of hurt and it all compressed.”

Bonnie and Nigel Lythgoe were married for 31 years and divorced five years ago.

She is an acclaimed former professional dancer who has worked with the British royals and he is most famous internationally for being a judge and creator of the So You Think You Can Dance reality format in the US.

“Sometimes because Nigel is very successful at everything he does, it was all about Nigel,” Lythgoe explained. “I was Mrs Cellophane; you could look right through me. Although I had a very professional great job, it was never about mine, it was always about him and his job and his everything.”

Bonnie, who was a judge on So You Think You Can Dance Australia, and Nigel have two sons and four grandchildren.

Of her new partner, Chris, she said: “He is the loveliest man because he cares about me. He puts me first in everything.”

Before entering the South African jungle to compete on I’m A Celebrity, Bonnie told News Corp she struggled with rumours of her ex-husband’s infidelities when they were together.

“Nobody knows and I’m not about to reveal it to you, what went on with Nigel and if there were other people, there were other people,” she said. “I remember reading in the paper ‘Love at first sight Priscilla Presley and Nigel Lythgoe’ and I thought, ‘oh my god’. Because of the world we live in, Nigel was with women all the time. He was probably absolutely fine but I was always thinking, I wonder if he fancies her, I wonder if she fancies him. You become insecure because of the world we live in. It is really tough. We live in a glamorous world with glamorous people. It is a tricky one.”
