GOLD Logie nominee Grant Denyer didn’t seem too perturbed when his Channel 10 game show Family Feud was axed, and now we know why.
He will front Network Ten’s Game of Games show, hoping to emulate the American success of the series under talk show host and comedian Ellen De Generes.
“Ellen is an idol of mine, so to land this opportunity makes me so excited I’m dizzy,” Denyer said.
“It’s wildly fun and something completely brand new and different for Australia.”
“I can’t wait to step on set and run amok with this.”
On Game of Games, contestants undertake “ridiculous challenges” for big cash prizes.

Ten pulled Denyer’s Family Feud last month after four years amid falling ratings.
But Denyer still managed to be nominated last weekend for several Logie awards, including the big prize of the Gold Logie.
Game of Games premiered in January in the US, and hosted by DeGeneres became a smash hit which was promptly renewed for season two.
In a combination of quiz and activity games, the show pulls contestants from the audience and sees them answer questions under time pressure, manoeuvre massive obstacles and face gigantic plunges into the unknown in a bid to win cash prizes.
The games are “super-sized versions” of games also played on DeGeneres’ talk show.
Ten is building the biggest set it’s ever constructed to accommodate the hour-long show.
