HE’S all over Australian screens thanks to Coles advertisements, and juggling his restaurant, Maude, in LA with celeb chef commitments and family life with two kids under four with his wife, US actor Lindsay Price.

So LA-based Aussie celeb chef Curtis Stone might be grateful that his latest TV offering airing in his homeland required only commentary, not cooking.

Stone is part of a panel of experts who give their views in American-produced documentary series Eat: The Story of Food.

The series traces the history of the fuel that keeps us going — from the original hunting and gathering on to planting, settling, and inevitably the rise and rise of convenience food.

Stone features in all six episodes of the series — although the experts are a veritable banquet which includes nearly 70 chefs, authors, food experts and food scientists, including Nigella Lawson, Padma Lakshmi, Eric Greenspan and Rachael Ray — so his noggin gets only a fleeting appearance in the first episode.

In later episodes, he’ll share his life experiences with food, including sharing precious memories and insights into the good old Australian barbecue.

Stone’s celeb status in the US in inarguable — he has fronted reality TV cooking shows, including Take Home Chef, Top Chef Masters, Around the World in 80 Plates, and appeared on Iron Chef America, Martha Stewart’s Martha, The Biggest Loser, Celebrity Apprentice, Today, Ellen and Oprah.

He even got away with dropping the f-bomb earlier this year on US chat show The Talk, when he cheekily took exception to being interrupted while cooking and dictating a recipe.

The outburst was met with laughter.

Eat: The Story of Food airs next Saturday at 7.30pm on Nat Geo People
