In more Sunrise news, Michael Pell, the executive producer of the breakfast show, and his partner, Daniel Burgess-Wise, have split — professionally, that is.
Burgess-Wise was employed in 2018 as the studio director of Channel 7’s breakfast show.
It was while working together in Seven’s darkened studio control room that the youthful Burgess-Wise and Pell fell in love.
For a decade Pell has pulled the strings at Sunrise after taking over from former EP Adam Boland, his ex-boyfriend, in 2010.
On Friday Pell confirmed the youthful and handsome Burgess-Wise finished up with Sunrise two weeks ago to try his hand as an actor.
“He left Seven full-time to pursue acting and is studying at NIDA and Screenwise, both of which are audition only, so after being successful (in his audition), he quit,” Pell said.
Burgess-Wise will continue at Seven in a freelance capacity.
