Channel 7 has released its full line-up for 2022’s edition of SAS Australia.
The 17-strong list features celebrities from a wide range of backgrounds, including former AFL greats Barry Hall and Wayne Carey alongside Fat Pizza comedian Paul Fenech and actor Melissa Tkautz.
They will appear with Olympians Geoff Huegill and Melissa Wu, as well as pro boxers Ebanie Bridges and Michael Zerafa.
The age range of 2022’s recruits varies wildly with 23-year-old NRLW player Millie Boyle going up against 50-year-olds Fenech and Carey.
Convicted cocaine dealer Richard Buttrose, son of presenter and ABC chair Ita Buttrose, will also be making an appearance on the next series.
The contest will pit the recruits against each other in challenging terrain, cut off from the outside world. They will eat, sleep and train together in gruelling conditions – with “no allowances or exceptions made for their celebrity status or gender”.

The news came shortly after 2021 star Koby Abberton revealed what the network paid him for the latest season.
The 42-year-old “Bra Boy”, who exited the show on Wednesday night due to back problems, told Triple M Sydney’s Moonman In The Morning show that he pocketed $100,000 from Channel 7.
“I was paid 100 grand,” Abberton declared on Thursday morning’s show.
“Another thing that I’m talking about there is other avenues of work, you be loud and proud and sometimes you find it, so that’s what that was.”
It makes Abberton among the highest paid celebrities on SAS Australia, with retired NRL star Sam Burgess reportedly making between $150,000 to $200,000.
