A Sydney father of two has detailed exactly how he snuck into Taylor Swift’s Sydney concert without a ticket.
Garnet Mae, an indie filmmaker, was kicked out of Accor Stadium on the final night of Swift’s Eras World Tour in Australia on February 26.
The 51-year-old made it about an hour into the show and shared his story on TikTok before security escorted him off the site.
He was banned from the Sydney Olympic Park venue and fined $150.
“Basically I created a fake AAA pass and just walked through,” Mae told Confidential.
“I had a guess at what the pass would look like and surprisingly the one I made was very similar. Nobody checked at the gates.
“One security guard thought that I was employed by the stadium and was annoyed I was filming.”
It has become somewhat of a trend for TikTokkers to shoot themselves trying to sneak into Swift’s concerts around the world.
Mae manoeuvred his way to the front of the stadium, standing metres away from the global superstar, all the while sharing his escapades on social media.
Once made aware of Mae’s breach, security found him and he was taken to a mobile police unit on site for questioning.
“They asked me a few questions and gave me a fine for trespassing on the spot,” Mae explained.
“They realised my pass was fake when they saw it wasn’t printed on both sides.”
No charges were laid.
Mae has 91 followers on TikTok. His video showing how he got in to the concert were subsequently removed by the site but others of him at the concert remain.
For full disclosure, Confidential first met Mae sneaking into the Cannes Film Festival in about 2006.
It became a regular pilgrimage for Mae to travel to France, which he did for more than a decade.
He famously regales friends with stories of scoring his way into parties and film premieres and brushing shoulders with the Hollywood stars including Quentin Tarantino, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L Jackson.
It is not Mae’s first brush with the law. In around 2004, he recalls spending a night in an LA jail after trying to get into the Oscars.
Funnily enough, Mae said he was surprised to have been caught at the Taylor Swift concert.
“I honestly thought I would have made it backstage,” he said.
“It would have been nice to meet Taylor Swift after the concert.”
