Would you get plastic surgery on your lunch break? More and more Australian women are

Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria’s plastic surgeon is in Sydney, championing a 15-minute non-invasive anti-ageing procedure he claims is “taking off like crazy here”.

Top plastic surgeon to the stars Dr Stephen Mulholland has claimed more Aussie women are seeking quick-fix procedures in their lunch breaks.

The Canadian, who has worked with big names including Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria, is in Sydney this week teaching hundreds of physicians how to use the latest advancements in cosmetic treatments, which only take 15 to 45 minutes.

“Technology is now so good that many people are no longer choosing to go under the knife, instead they are using radio frequency heat to pinpoint loose skin and fat, to tighten skin tissue,” said Dr Mulholland, who is counted among the top 10 plastic surgeons in the world.

“They come in for a quick treatment in their lunch break and see a noticeable improvement when they walk away,” he added.

Kim Kardashian posted about one of these products, called the Morpheus8, which she’s been using on her abdomen.

It’s had over a billion online impressions in the last few months.

“It treats from outside the skin and pulls it back to where it belongs, whether that’s jawline, neck, tummy, or thighs,” Dr Mulholland said. “It’s taking off like crazy here.”

“That’s interesting because typically things take a little longer to filter down. Australian physicians are appropriately conservative. They have a ‘show me and prove it’ attitude, and don’t jump on the hype, which is the more American way.”

These treatments cost $1605 per round, and require three sessions.

“They give you about 30 per cent of a surgical face lift, for 30 per cent of the cost,” Dr Mulholland said, and last for about a year.

“They’ve created these applicators that doctors can use in their office, under topical or local anaesthetic for a surgical-like result. It’s not quite as good, but the best they’ve ever been able to get without a scar.”

He likened that to the industry “bottling the genie”.

“I’m a face lift surgeon, and I tell most women: If you’re happy being 8 to 10 years younger for the rest of your life, you don’t need a face lift. Not 20 years — that’s what a face lift can do. But this has no scars, no cutting, and no stigma.”

Dr Mulholland believes that’s why more and more Millennials, including people who never would’ve considered surgery, are jumping on the bandwagon.

“Anything the Kardashians are doing, Millennials will do. If they’ve got good skin tone, they might not do the Morpheus, but they’ll do a photo facial, like Bella Thorne.

“Or for slightly older women, a Forma (radio waves that produce collagen), which is what I believe Kate Middleton does.”
