With a little help and lots of trying, Wiggle bub on the way

They’ll be needing an extra seat in the Big Red Car. Another Wiggles baby is on the way, with exciting news for one of the group.

Purple Wiggle's heartwarming news

With a little help after years of trying, purple Wiggle John Pearce is to become a father for the first time.

The former Justice Crew member excitedly revealed the news to The Daily Telegraph, sitting down with partner Jessie at the couple’s Sydney home they share with their Ragdoll cat Bally.

“The universe says it is the right time,” John said.

“A lot of people think it is so easy to fall pregnant, that was our approach for the last few years.

“We thought when we were ready, it would happen like that but when we started actively trying without being too clinical, we faced a few challenges along the way and with some help from some professionals, we ended up conceiving.”

Jessie suffers from Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

“You face challenges with understanding when your ovulation is so we weren’t quite sure when the right time was to conceive,” she explained.

“That was the major challenge for us so we needed a little help with ovulation and first try we were successful.”

John, 33, added: “I think a lot of people don’t speak about it and everyone suffers in silence.”

The couple have been together for 12 years, married for five. They did a gender reveal with family at the weekend.

“It’s a boy,” said John, whose twin brother Lenny was also in Justice Crew. “The first call, we did think it was a twin but it is a single. We are very excited.”

Including current and previous Wiggles members, the news brings the tally of babies from the group to 17. That includes the couple’s bub that is due by the end of the year while red Wiggle Caterina Mete is due to give birth to twins over the coming weeks.

“We’re all so happy to see The Wiggles family expanding,” the kids entertainers said in a joint statement. “John and Jessie are a wonderful couple, and we can’t wait to welcome their baby into our Wiggles world. It will be a full house by Christmas … we may need to look at getting an even bigger Red Car.”

The pair joked that their bub will have no choice but to watch Wiggles.

“We will definitely have the Wiggles on straight away so he can see his dad,” Jessie said, John adding: “Let’s just hope he actually watches it.”
