Why Kyle Sandilands was a no-show after ratings slump
NOT even Jackie O or replacement host Beau Ryan know what is going on with Kyle Sandilands. The radio host has been missing in action from his KIIS FM breakfast show for the two days after he lost the top spot in the radio ratings survey.

RADIO jock Kyle Sandilands failed to turn up to work yesterday and today after he lost the top spot in the radio ratings survey.
On Tuesday WSFM’s Brendan “Jonesy” Jones and Amanda Keller beat KIIS FM’s Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson — the duo’s first ratings defeat in three years.
This morning, Jackie O Henderson told listeners that no one could locate Sandilands but stand-in Beau Ryan said he had been texting the shock jock overnight.

Ryan was called in to replace Sandilands for two days now.
Sandilands’ disappearance was practically ignored at the start of today’s show.
Henderson simply said “Beau (Ryan) is filling in for Kyle,” and moved on with the show.
Ryan told listeners he had spoken to Sandilands: “He text me, he sounded cool last night,” he said.
There were short mentions of Sandilands during the show, when Ryan pushed his co-host on his absence she awkwardly deflected.
“I don’t know what is going on with Kyle,” Ryan said.
Henderson tried to ignore question, asking an off air producer “What do you reckon?”
“I am hoping he will be back,” the producer said.
Sandilands’ absence was also mentioned only briefly during yesterday’s show. “Kyle is not here,” Henderson said.
“I got told at 5.20am, I don’t know what Kyle is doing,” Ryan told listeners.
It is radio silence from the station about their top dog being missing in action. The official line is not to comment about Sandilands’ whereabouts. Staff are told to point to Jackie O’s on air comments and made no further comment.
Both co-hosts are said to have signed $20 million contracts over five years in 2016.
The latest radio ratings survey, the fifth this year, recorded that Sandilands and Henderson’s KIIS FM show dropped 1.7 percentage points to an overall share of 9.3 per cent.
ARN stablemates Jonesy and Amanda scored 10.3 per cent to take the coveted top spot.
This is the latest ratings hit for the once untouchable Sydney breakfast show.
The show has been heavily criticised over recent years for taking stunts too far.
It received serious backlash for insensitive comments made during cricket captain Steve Smith’s ball-tampering scandal.
