THE show must go on — even through heartache, fake smiles and gritted teeth.

But Emma Watkins and Lachy Gillespie didn’t get much wiggle room after The Daily Telegraph revealed the couple’s two year marriage was over three weeks ago.

Yesterday the pair put their Wiggles skivvies on for their first show since the shock revelation.

Gillespie was on the St Marys Rugby League Club stage first yesterday, greeted by loud cheers and cheeky calls of “marry me Lachy”.

Then it was time for him to introduce Watkins who arrived with her trademark song “she’s the girl with a bow in her hair”.

While the children in the audience were oblivious to the couple’s personal dramas, it was the mums (and some dads) who were buzzing at the thought of the two interacting.

As they sang and danced their way through an hour together, it was obvious why The Wiggles have been one of Australia’s most-successful children’s acts for more than 20 years.

Watkins seemed a little flat and their body language was awkward at times — during one song Gillespie had his hand out for Watkins to grab, which she didn’t.

And when the duo were going through the cards, gifts and flowers collected from the audience, Watkins was a little too sharp in correcting Gillespie on the type of flowers he was given. (For the record it was a bunch of purple hydrangeas).

But whatever heartbreak the pair is enduring, it wasn’t on show publicly.
