Twist in Kyle Sandilands’ relationship backlash

KIIS FM shock jock Kyle Sandilands has revealed how his girlfriend Imogen Anthony copped backlash so bad when she started dating him, he was forced to call the police. He also told of the bizarre twist when they discovered who was behind her ordeal.

The 46-year-old was on his hit radio show discussing bullying this morning when he opened up about Anthony’s childhood.

“When Imogen and I started dating, she had a bit of bullying in primary school, got through it in high school and then went off to do her own thing and then hadn’t had to deal with bullying for ages — and then when she started dating me, people were all like, ‘You’re this, you’re that,’ ‘Why would you be with him?, ‘You’re only there for the money.’ Then she was like, ‘Wow I thought bullying was left behind at school, I’m an adult and I’m getting bullied again, it’s crazy’,” he said on air.

“And all those same crazy feelings (came back) and guess what? We did get the police on to it and it ended up being one of her best friends. We found out.”

Sandilands revealed how Anthony spent many times confiding in her unnamed friend.

“(Her friend) would sit on our couch and Imogen would be like, ‘They know so many stories of when I was a child and I can’t figure out who it is’ and they were trying for figure out together who it was,” he said.

“Then months later the cyber crime department at the police came back and said, ‘This is the person who it is’, and it was the person she was confiding in and crying with.

“The person just shut down and disappeared. Very weird.”

Sandilands and Anthony, 27, have been dating since 2012, two years after he split with his ex-wife Tamara Jaber.

In the past, Sandilands said he “wooed” Anthony by “cooking her steak.”
