Karl Stefanovic has vowed to lose a further five kilograms after revealing his dramatic eight kilogram weight loss.
The popular Today breakfast TV host showed off his trimmer figure live on air on Tuesday before stepping out for a spot of tennis.
The new father revealed he had been following Dr Nick Fuller’s interval eating program and working on his general fitness.
“I’ve been walking the bub every day,” Stefanovic told The Daily Telegraph.
“I have been going for a hit of tennis and doing a work out and ice bath at the Shelter in Double Bay once a week. I’ve been trying to keep variety in working out.”
Stefanovic, 45, and partner Jasmine in May became parents to baby girl, Harper May, at North Shore Private Hospital. He is father to Jackson, River and Ava from a previous relationship.
“I have another five kg to lose to get to my goal weight,” Stefanovic said. “I’ve followed Nick Fuller’s interval eating … just eating like a sparrow at night. Except when Ally (Today co-host Ally Langdon) and I get the team Maccas on a Friday morning. I give myself a pass to drink Friday and Saturday if I want to, it’s all about making small changes that are sustainable.”
Stefanovic weighed in at 105kg when he started the program nearly three months ago. Today, he is down to 97kg.
Despite falling off “once or twice”, he managed to shed unwanted kilos with a strict diet including limited alcohol and regular exercise.
On air, he told viewers he has always been a healthy eater but that it is not always easy to maintain his diet due to his early breakfast TV shift.
“With these hours that we do, we can mess up with diet,” he said. “In the last couple of weeks it’s been a bit difficult with the baby and just life getting in the way.”
