Andrew O’Keefe had Sunday Confidential on something of a wild-goose chase this week.
An eagle-eyed reader pointed out that The Chase host was wearing a ring on his wedding finger, prompting us to ask questions about the status of his relationship with former partner Eleanor.
O’Keefe and the mother of their three children split in late 2017. So why was he wearing a ring on his wedding finger while filming an episode of the Channel 7 game show?
Initial inquiries suggested the episode may have been a repeat from some years ago, although Confidential pushed on with questions as the episode showed contestants socially distancing.
Eventually, O’Keefe’s management confirmed he is close to finalising his divorce and remains in a relationship with a yet-to-be identified Sydney-based girlfriend.
Representatives confirmed the episode of The Chase was shot recently and the jewellery was simply “a dress ring”.
In April, O’Keefe’s manager announced he would be taking a break from filming The Chase to recover from a difficult 12 months that left him “emotionally exhausted” and needing to work through some “personal issues”.
“Over the past year or so (Andrew) has had to come to terms with his marriage breakdown among a range of other issues,” his agent Mark Klemens said at the time.
