The Bachelor Australia 2021: Meet Jimmy Nicholson’s contestants

Find out who will be competing for Jimmy Nicholson’s heart on The Bachelor Australia.

Channel 10 have revealed their Bachelor for 2021

Eight NSW women will compete for Jimmy Nicholson’s heart as the new season of The Bachelor kicks off on Wednesday. It gives our fair state a good chance with 23 women in total lining up to find love on the reality series as it goes into its ninth season.

From a flight manager to a personal trainer, a registered nurse and a nutritionist, it is an eclectic mix. Many of the contestants agreed online dating can be a difficult minefield.

“I struggle with online dating because I don’t like how much time it requires you to be on your phone,” 28-year-old medical equipment installer Annabelle O’Regan said. “I get overwhelmed with the notifications, so I just mute them and never text back. I also find it quite superficial. For me attraction is about whether you feel drawn to each other’s energy. I do tend to turn my head more for the brown hair, green/blue eyes, tanned skin and active types … Am I just describing the male version of myself?”

Personal trainer Elena Wee, 33, is already looking to her future with Nicholson.

“In 10 years I see myself with two kids, married to the man of my dreams, living in a dream home with a German Shepherd,” she said. “I would also love to be running strength and conditioning studios, in Sydney’s Bondi and Manly, and Byron. I’m strong and independent. I’m super driven and ambitious, bubbly, fun and I have a great personality.”

Here, Confidential takes you through the women vying for Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson’s heart on the 2021 season of The Bachelor:

ANNABELLE O’REGAN, 28, MEDICAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLER, NSW

For me attraction is about whether you feel drawn to each other’s energy. I do tend to turn my head more for the brown hair, green/blue eyes, tanned skin and active types … Am I just describing the male version of myself? I struggle with online dating, because I don’t like how much time it requires you to be on your phone. I get overwhelmed with the notifications, so I just mute them and never text back. I also find it quite superficial. I have loved and cared deeply for ex-partners, but I don’t think I have ever been in deep, deep love.

ASH LAWSON, 34, DANCE TEACHER, QLD

The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me is my stiletto breaking on a first date, so instead of saying anything, I tried to hide it by trying not to limp when I was walking.

ASHLEIGH FRECKLETON, 28, SPEECH PATHOLOGIST, VIC

I can’t live without my daily coffee. Sometimes before I go to bed, I get a little flutter of excitement when I realise it’ll be morning soon and I’ll get to have one. That’s how much I love my morning coffee. My siblings met their partners on Tinder, so I gave it a red-hot crack but didn’t have the same luck. I went on some great dates and discovered a heap of cool bars and brunch spots though, so it wasn’t a total waste of time.

BELINDA ROBINSON, 29, CRIMINAL LAWYER, QLD

I am a tragically hopeless romantic, I need help. If I met the love of my life and he wanted me to move to the middle of a deserted island today, I would be there. Love wise, I want to be completely wrapped up in a safe and healthy, unconditional love cocoon of happiness with a special ‘forever’ someone, and all of the doggies, taking on the world together and living

our best lives.

BROOKE CLEAL, 27, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST, VIC

I have high expectations of love and chemistry. I’m not the type of girl to get in a relationship with anyone. I need to have that spark. My ideal man is an Alpha male – quiet confidence, smart, ambitious, athletic but very cheeky too. Someone I can inspire and crack a smile. Physically, they would be tall, have green/ blue hazel eyes, brown hair and athletic. And competitive, but with an easygoing nature.

CARLIE HODGES, 33, CORPORATE LAWYER, VICTORIA

My parents have been disgustingly in love for over 46 years. They’ve taught me that love can be eternal (sounds cheesy, but it’s true). I’m at the stage in my life where I feel I’m very happy with all I’ve achieved in my career, now I just need someone to share my life and start a family with. This experience is all about finding the person to spend your life with. And I’m ready.

CHANEL TANG, 34, FLIGHT MANAGER, NSW

Dating apps have removed the best part about meeting men in the wild: the body language, chemistry, and chivalry. I am a bit of a nomad, I love packing up my life and living abroad or jumping on a plane with no plan in mind of where I’ll end up. Unless you meet someone like-minded, it’s difficult to maintain a relationship with a nomadic soul.

ELENA WEE, 33, PERSONAL TRAINER, NSW

In 10 years I see myself with two kids, married to the man of my dreams, living in a dream home with a German Shepherd. I would also love to be running strength and conditioning studios, in Sydney’s Bondi and Manly, and Byron. I’m strong and independent. HANNAH NORMAN, 26, REGISTERED NURSE, NSW

I have been in love twice before. First love was my high school boyfriend and then my second love was my last relationship. I am down to earth, always up for an adventure, supportive, nurturing, genuine, caring, fun loving, always up for a laugh and here for the right reasons.

HOLLY KINGSTON, 27, MARKETING MANAGER, NSW

I applied for the show because love in lockdown wasn’t particularly successful. With the crazy year that was 2020, I feel like there’s no better time to jump on this wild ride and hopefully find Mr. Right at the end. I’m an incredibly loyal and loving person. My proudest achievement to date, has to be mastering the fine art of a Pinterest worthy cheese board. I’m scared of letting my walls done, being vulnerable and being heart broken in the end.

JACINTA BOYS, 29, EXECUTIVE RECRUITER, VIC

I applied for the show because I have had no luck in finding the right person. I basically see a red flag and run towards it. I needed some help. My dream date would be to do something outdoorsy, adventurous and adrenaline-inducing to kick start the fun. After that, you can’t go wrong with dinner and some lovely wine.

JAY LAL, 31, NUTRITIONIST, NSW

In the last few years, I’ve lived in three countries, four cities and I’ve finally found my home, here in Sydney. I am very competitive, but in a healthy way. However, when it comes to finding love, it’s not something you can fight out or win, because it’s so subjective. I’ll just be myself and if I’m not for him and another girl is then that’s fine.

My relationship deal breakers are chain smoking, a lack of ambition in life and someone who is mean or unkind to other people.

LAURA O’LOUGHLIN, 28, SPEECH PATHOLOGIST, SA

I’ve dated my fair share of blokes who were happily dating multiple other women simultaneously, without my knowledge. At least this time it will be completely transparent. I have grown tired of the dating game and this show might finally end my search!

LAUREN JENKINS, 29, OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR, SA

I’m not one to shy away from confrontation, but I always pick my battles. Not everyone is worth fighting, but I won’t hold back for the ones that are.

LILY PRICE, 23, CRANE OPERATOR, VIC

I may be young, but I know what life is about and I feel like I’d be great to have on your side in life. I want nothing more than for someone to want me in their life.

MADISON ALLEN, 24, MARKETING CO-ORDINATOR, VIC

My love language is gift-giving, so am guaranteed to shower them with unnecessary presents. Also, I bake an excellent apple cinnamon cake. I don’t really mind if a man is physically fit or not, so long as he’s healthy and happy. I am really into guys who are funny and loyal, and who don’t need to be babysat at family events.

REBEKAH MODERNEL, 27, YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER, NSW

I don’t have any secret talents but I’m learning Auslan. I would love to be competent in Australian sign. I fall hard and fast and then get ghosted by guys that are not ready for anything serious. It always ends with me sitting on the couch, watching a rom-com, and crying my eyes out.

SIERAH SWEPSTONE, 28, TECHNICAL ANALYST, VICTORIA

I have been single for the most part of my adult life. I am sick of flicking through Tinder and Hinge, and wasting my time on duds. I want to find a partner in life to settle down with.

STEPHANIE LYNCH, 27, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, WA

I love throwing myself into new experiences and I’m ready to find someone to settle down with. My ideal man is tall, dark and handsome, with a self-deprecating sense of humour, likes to go out for a couple drinks, appreciates life, and one that I can have the deep conversations, but wants to enjoy life and have fun.

STEVIE GREY, 29, HAIR STYLIST, QLD

If I could compare myself to a someone in Gossip Girl, it would be Blair, because she has high standards and loves deeply. My ideal man loves animals, attitude has to be positive, looks wise; I love glasses but I’m open to anything. I am not judgmental.

TAHNEE LEESON, 27, CORPORATE TRAVEL MANAGER, VIC

I am very comfortable with the woman I am today and very mentally strong. My realistic dream date isn’t too crazy. I just like to be in an environment that’s quiet so we can talk, maybe a beautiful picnic or a quiet restaurant with a gorgeous view and amazing food.

TAMLYN HOSKINS, 25, CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER, NSW

I have very high standards and I’m not willing to settle for anything less than what I want. I just haven’t found the right guy that I can see myself spending the rest of my life with. I also haven’t found anyone who is as funny as me. I have been in love once. I fell in love with my best friend, however he was never in love with me so it didn’t work out. My ideal man is confident, outgoing and extremely funny with a little bit of sarcasm. He is family orientated, goal-driven and someone who has wholesome morals and values that match my own.

TATUM HARGRAVES, 26, COMPANY DIRECTOR, QLD

Hopefully I possess all of the qualities he is seeking in a partner, and vice versa. I’m looking for someone who is

confident, loving, caring, emotionally available, self-discovered, family-orientated and sure of

himself.
