After being unable to work for much of the year due to the Covid lockdown, celebrity tattoo artist Lauren Winzer is more in demand than ever.
In fact, she doesn’t have a Saturday appointment free until May, 2022.
“I usually only take bookings up to two months in advance but given all of the rescheduling of lockdown and the high demand now that people can get out there because they are free, I am taking a lot more bookings than usual,” Winzer told Confidential.
Winzer is now working six days a week at Hunter and Fox Tattoo in Beaconsfield, where she has inked some of the world’s biggest stars including Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Toni Collette, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. During the 2020 lockdown, she supplemented her income by creating a colouring-in book of her work.
This year, she took on a number of drawing collaborations and has teamed up with Jagermeister for its Night Lights campaign, supporting live music in Australia and around the world. Post Malone, on whom she tattooed a Playboy bunny on his face and a Beauty and the Beast scene on his leg, is fronting the campaign internationally.
She is known for her colourful, almost cartoon-like tattoos.
“Whether you are a Hollywood star or a regular customer, I look at my work the same,” she said. “It is about creating art that will last a lifetime.”
