Stand Up Comedian Alex “Shooter” Williamson’s shows at the Sydney Comedy Festival have been cancelled after his former girlfriend, singer and TikTok star Peach PRC aired allegations of physical abuse and “predatory behaviour” earlier this week.
The comedian took to Instagram to furiously deny claims he was “abusive, manipulative and predatory” after Peach’s lengthy public statement.
In doing so, he lashed out at Peach with several sexually explicit comments to his half a million fans. In it he said she “threw herself” at him when she was 19 and he was 29.
“Confirming that in light of recent events, the Sydney Comedy Festival has withdrawn Alex Williamson’s show from its program. Ticketholders will be contacted with more information soon,” the statement read.
On Thursday, Williamson’s management also revealed they had dropped the comedian following the social media scandal. In a leaked email to Pedestrian, More Talent Andrew Taylor confirmed it had dropped Williamson saying the Instagram videos were “completely inappropriate” and “unacceptable” and that “we do not and cannot be seen to condone behaviour such as is alleged, nor the tone or content of his responses.”
On Tuesday, Peach shared a note to Twitter explaining why she went public.
“He is literally TELLING you what he’s doing and disguising it as ‘dark humour’ this man is sick. He needs to be de-platformed at the very LEAST. I am not scared of you Alex. Your empty threats are pathetic and I won’t be silenced anymore.”
This isn’t Williamson’s first controversy. Last year the Adelaide comedian’s, who rose to fame on You Tube, set was haltered after an ugly confrontation with a heckler. Referencing the hecklers deceased parents, the so called “Loosest Aussie Bloke” said, “I’m glad they’re f****** dead so they didn’t get to see their son evolve into such a f****** useless sack of s***,” Williamson said.
