Survivor star David Genat, 40, says there was one major benefit to living on rice and beans and doing gruelling challenges for 10 days – becoming island hot.
The reality star told Confidential that he dropped 3kg during filming and feels great.
“So the first time I played I lost 11.6kg, but I had gone into the game with a lot of muscle, coming into all stars I only had 6 weeks to bulk and I was more focused on having fat to lose,” he said.
“Fortunately my wife is a trainer/nutritionist and she had a full plan for me on muscle growth and caloric intake because I came into the game 3kg heavier than last time and we got that done in 6 weeks. A lot of eating in jury villa helped.
“Going into the game the second time I was doing some really hard core bulking so I was probably about 5-6kg heavier than I usually walk around at and a side effect of not eating is obviously losing weight. Who doesn’t feel good about themselves when they have lost a couple of KGs? But there is a sweet spot between a couple KGs lighter and looking shredded and a lot of KGs lighter and looking like Christian Bale in the Machinist.”
