Kanye and Kim: how the ultimate celeb couple went from fairytale to crisis

Could one of the great Millennial romances be over? Rumours are swirling that local boy-turned-pop sensation Troye Sivan has split from his international modelling superstar beau Jacob Bixenman after four years together.

Music sources say the pair quietly parted ways in the past few months while Sivan was seeing out his COVID-19 isolation period in Australia.

Bixenman, meanwhile, has remained in his home town of Los Angeles.

The pair have been virtually absent from each other’s Instagram feeds — the last combined post with them pictured together dates way back to November last year.

And, in a sure sign that things may be rocky, both have stopped commenting on each other’s posts.

But perhaps the biggest and most obvious clue is in the music.

Sivan is set to release a new album, Dream, next month — and it is heavily weighted with break-up angst.

The first single, Easy, details a tumultuous relationship, featuring the lines: “He made it easy, please, don’t leave me.”

The previous single, Take Yourself Home, is about Sivan returning to Australia last year after an undisclosed incident in his adopted hometown of LA.

“Talk to me, there’s nothing that can’t be fixed with some honesty,” he sings, adding: “And how we got this dark is just beyond to me.”

Sivan and Bixenman became the ultimate gay “It-couple” when they went public with their relationship in August 2018, and are regular paparazzi fodder around LA, where they share a house.

Representatives for Sivan’s label EMI declined to comment on rumours of a split.

BAMBI’S LOVED-UP BONDI LUNCH RUN

Flushed with new love, model Bambi Northwood-Blyth was photographed in Sydney last week enjoying the amorous attentions of her new beau, handsome Australian actor Thomas Cocquerel.

The pair spent the week holed up at a swank beachside Bondi apartment block, emerging at one point to take a stroll along the Bondi promenade in search of lunch.

It’s the first time Northwood-Blyth, 29, has been linked with anyone since her marriage to former fashion wild child Dan Single ended in 2017, after Single tumbled from the window of the Hotel Grand D’Amour in Paris shattering his pelvis, legs, feet and fracturing his skull.

Sources say the fall — and Single’s long and arduous recovery — was the turning point in the couple’s relationship breakdown.

Revealing she still has a soft spot for Paris despite the trauma, Northwood-Blyth’s new partner was raised in the City Of Light where he learned to speak the local language from his French father before moving to Australia.

Thirty-year-old Cocquerel comes from a family of thespians with three younger sisters, Emilie, Elsa and Anna, all working as actors.

Having trained at NIDA and graduated in 2012, the actor found fame in the TV drama Love Child and later in Anzac Girls, before winning a role on the silver screen in the feature film Kidnapping Mr Heineken alongside Anthony Hopkins and Sam Worthington.

His resume also includes turns in films Red Dog: True Blue, The Billionaire Boy’s Club and Celeste, but he is probably best known for his work in the 2018 biopic feature, In Like Flynn, in which he played swashbuckler Errol Flynn.

He will appear next on the small screen in the HBO series The Gilded Age alongside Christine Baranski, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Cynthia Nixon.

No word yet on how the couple met, although Cocquerel shares Northwood-Blyth’s love for music and travel, and has also done some modelling work.

Last month the model said she had spent the COVID-19 imposed break “educating myself, reading, listening, learning and talking with friends and family”, though there was scant mention of Cocquerel who looked to enjoy the attention of the cameras.

TV BACK ON MENU FOR GUILLAUME

Foodie heart-throb Guillaume Brahimi is ready to make his long-awaited return to the small screen. A decade after his debut on Food Safari, Brahimi will return to SBS with a new French cooking series to coincide with the network’s coverage of the Tour de France.

The show is in production throughout various locations across NSW.

“I am so excited about it,” says the Paris-born celebrity chef, who also has three major restaurants, two of which (Sydney and Melbourne) are closed due to COVID-19.

“I love doing TV so I was so happy when they asked me to do a series. And to be able to do French food, focusing on the classics, it’s perfect for me really. I get to travel around to all of these amazing producers and cook simple French food in beautiful locations.

“What could be better?”

Prior to his new gig Brahimi was sharpening his TV skills with an Instagram cooking series filmed from his backyard in Watsons Bay following the closure of his restaurants.

“It’s heartbreaking,” says Brahimi, whose Perth restaurant continues to trade.

Brahimi’s still unnamed SBS show will replace Gabriel Gate’s long-running Taste le Tour series which was yanked last year after 15 seasons.

As for his life off-screen, Brahimi remains unattached following his high-profile divorce from ex-wife Sanchia in 2016.

“At the moment I am just focused on my kids,” he said.
