‘Something I’m working on’: G Flip reveals their ‘weakness’

Life as a successful music artist is not just about showing up for a gig, explains Aussie export G Flip.

Why Aussie singer wants to work in an office

G Flip is not your conventional business person.

One of Australia’s top entertainment exports of recent years, they are keen to explore more opportunities outside of music.

“G Flip is definitely a business, it is not just me rocking up to a show,” the 30-year-old told Confidential. “I am having budget meetings, going over Excel spreadsheets, working out my calendar and planning what I am doing next year in November 2025. There is so much to a music artist as a business.”

As a business person, G Flip recognised their strength as “looking at different ways to do things”.

“My weakness would probably be I am real emotional. I just cry all the time, I am such an emotional person. You kind of have to have a strong backbone, you’ve got to be able to tell people off when you’re running a business and I struggle with confrontation and doing that. That’s something I am working on in therapy and just me as a person but definitely … having to be stern with people because I am such a little love puppy.”

Born Georgia Claire Flipo, G Flip has partnered with various brands over the years and this week launched their alcohol brand, BOX.

The idea was born out of wanting to create a drink they would consume before going on stage.

“When I drink alcohol, especially before going on stage, I have orange juice and a spirit or something,” they said. “That is my drink of choice because carbonation makes me burp.”

They have a bunch of other business ideas, from fashion to “sex toys”.

G Flip lives in Los Angeles with American wife, Chrishell Stause, who will arrive in Australia this week to film a guest role on TV soap Neigbours.

Then musician is also keen to explore acting.

“I would love to dabble in that (acting), I want to write a musical, there’s lots of things I want to do,” they said. “I feel like G Flip is my baby and what I have worked on for so long and it has given me such great opportunities. I always want to keep dreaming, keep trying and keep learning new things.”

G Flip is best known for their songs The Worst Person Alive, Drink Too Much and Killing My Time. Second album, Drummer, was released last August.

“I’ve got to write a third album, I’ve got to keep the chain going,” they said. “I am really excited about it because it is like a fresh canvas to pain. I don’t know what direction I am going to go, but that is kind of fun for me.”
