The daughter of reality TV star Snezana Wood has opened up about her fractured relationship with her biological father.
Eve Markoski-Wood, 20, was raised by her mother Snezana and stepfather Sam Wood, who entered her life when she was nine after the couple met on The Bachelor in 2015.
Speaking to social media platform Dose of Society, which has more than 2.5 million followers, Markoski-Wood reflected on the most painful thing anyone has ever said to her.
“Probably that I don’t deserve the life I’m living,” she told the interviewer.
When asked who said those words and why, a teary eyed Markoski-Wood revealed it was her biological father.
“I grew up just with my mum, single mum and she raised me to the woman I am today,” she said.
“He wanted to see my mum suffer. And I think when he saw that my mum’s like built a life for both of us, I think it was just more of a reaction.”
The model and content creator admitted she has not seen her biological father in eight years.
“He was never around when I was little so it was just my mum and I. I was very close to my mum’s side. Everyone was there to support me,” she explained.
“But I think he just did some things a while back, that ended him in places that he shouldn’t have been in. He just got involved with the wrong people.”
When asked what she would like to tell her mother today, Markoski-Wood didn’t hesitate.
“How proud I am of her,” she said.
“She’s done a lot. She sacrificed a lot. She was working a 9 to 5 and then after that going to uni. She ended up getting her bachelor’s in molecular genetics and biochem.
“Seeing how strong and how much strength she’s got to keep on going through all this, it makes me proud of being a mother’s daughter.”
Markoski-Wood encouraged viewers to lean on the people who truly care for them after receiving hurtful comments from a parent.
“There is a support system around you,” she said.
“There are people that love you and that care for you. And I think the moment when something like that is said, it’s coming out of spite or jealousy, it’s not directed to you.”
Markoski-Wood relocated to New York City last year, after a heartfelt farewell celebration hosted by her family as she embarked on an exciting new chapter in the Big Apple.
