Seven pays up after star Georgie Parker’s Logies’ suit ‘butchered’

Channel 7 has paid out an Aussie designer after a stylist quite literally ripped her off, cutting up a glitzy Logies suit loaned to Home and Away star Georgie Parker— and then didn’t give it back.

Six months after Aussie TV icon Georgie Parker wore a showstopping suit to the Logies, its designer has finally received reparations from the Sydney stylist who she says “butchered” her red carpet creation.

Confidential can reveal Channel 7 had to step in and pay off Cristina Tridente, the owner of Couture+Love+Madness, who had loaned it to the Home and Away star.

The custom-made technicolour ensemble landed Parker on all the best dressed lists in June, but Tridente said it was altered without her permission or knowledge, and not returned by Parker’s stylist after the event.

“The stylist went and took it to a tailor and changed the shape of the suit without getting permission from us,” Tridente wrote.

“It wasn’t a fitting issue, the whole pants were butchered to change the shape.”

That stylist was Reload Agency’s Pip Cook, who has also styled the likes of Hugh Jackman, Miranda Kerr, Lara Worthington, Jason Derulo, and Danni Minogue.

Cook is regularly employed by Channel Seven to frock up the network’s talent, from the Sunrise presenters, to the Home and Away cast.

After trying and failing to receive reparations from either Cook, Reload, or Channel Seven, Tridente aired her grievances about the “unprofessional situation” to a private Facebook group for female entrepreneurs.

The Aussie fashion house owner attached images of her original garment, showing more than 28cm of material had been cut out of the painstakingly bedazzled pants.

She learned of the permanent changes made to her creation via Instagram, when Soraya tailors (who “had no idea” the outfit was a loan) tagged her in a post.

Tridente claims Cook told her that she would “pass on the costs to the network”.

“And then she ghosted me and blocked me on Instagram, obviously hoping our conversations would disappear,” Tridente wrote, “but I have screenshots”.

Tridente then asked her fellow businesswomen for advice as to how she could recoup the money she spent making the suit, having already sent the agency an invoice for the suit while it was missing, and then an updated bill for the altered pants alone.

Reload Agency issued a swift and stern “no comment”.

Then miraculously, days after Confidential made some enquiries, Tridente’s Facebook post was removed, and the issue was sorted.

“Happy to say the suit has been returned, and the costs have been settled by Channel 7,” Tridente said.

And as for why it took so long?

Apparently, Australia Post is to blame.

“The missing garment was located by Australia Post and returned to the designer earlier this month,” a Channel 7 spokesperson said. “All outstanding costs have been settled.”
