Bra Boy Koby Abberton has detailed a wild night partying at Russell Crowe’s house at which his manager “projectile vomited”.
Telling castmates on reality show SAS Australia “a story about Russ”, Abberton spoke of how he came to know the Hollywood star when working on 2007 documentary, Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker Than Water.
“When we first done the Bra Boys thing, I wanted to get Russell to narrate it,” Abberton explained. “I started getting this bloke calling me. It’s Russell Crowe and I’m like, ‘mate, just f*** off all right, I don’t know who this is but I know it is one of the boys, just leave me alone’.”
Abberton continued: “I went to his house and took my manger there. My manager doesn’t drink or smoke. The next thing I look across and he is smoking and drinking beers mate.”
Abberton said Crowe walked into the room in his famous Gladiator mask from the film that scored him an Academy Award in 2001.
“There was all of this wrestling and shit, it was the best night ever,” he recalled to retired rugby league footballer Sam Burgess, who now works for Crowe on his film projects.
“My manager starts projectile vomiting bro all over Russell’s house bro. Russell runs back in his room bro and I am like, ‘mate, spew in your shirt right now’. I was wiping it up trying to hide it and Russell walks in and goes, ‘buddy I’ve got video cameras everywhere’. We had the best time, that was it.”
It has been a big week for controversial contestant Abberton, who has been outspoken in the competition.
In Monday’s episode, Abberton faced former British special forces soldiers Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham and Ollie Ollerton in a confronting interrogation.
He spoke about the dark history of the Bra Boys and of a night when his brother, Jai, came home covered in blood after shooting standover man Tony Hines in 2003.
Elsewhere in the episode, Abberton spoke to his fellow recruits about Australian politics, hitting out at Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
