Roberta Williams says she has set up an OnlyFans account so she can buy a “forever home” for her kids.

The ex-wife of crime figure Carl Williams has amassed hundreds of followers in just 24 hours since opening an account on the adult social media app where people earn money for sharing images of themselves, often of a sexual nature.

“I can’t get a normal job like anyone else,” Williams told The Daily Telegraph, speaking for the first time since news broke she had set up the account.

“My dream job would be to work as an air hostess but I could never do that given my history. So I have no choice but to take matters into my own hands.”

“Other people have profited off of my image so why should I not be in control so that I can earn enough money to buy a forever home for my children, which is my main game here.”

Some 12 hours after Williams, 53, started her OnlyFans, her adult daughter, Dhakota, also created an account. Both say they are “celebrating women” and owning their femininity.

OnlyFans has become a popular, yet controversial, way for young men and women to make money with some influencers declaring they have earnt staggering amounts of money for a single post and some claiming to have made millions on the site.

“This is something I’ve thought about for a long time, I really have put a lot of thought into it,” 21-year-old Dhakota said.

“Mum gave me the courage to do it. There is no shame in owning your femininity. I am proud of who I am and where I come from. It doesn’t hurt to show off your body. And importantly, I am in control over what I share.”

Dhakota was just 10 when her father, Carl, was murdered at Victoria’s Barwon Prison in April 2010 while serving life sentences for the murders of Jason and Lewis Moran and Mark Mallia.

He was famously played by Gyton Grantly in TV drama Underbelly while Roberta was played by actor Kat Stewart.

Roberta made the point that despite her very public profile and issues with the law, she had always provided a home for her children.

She is mum to five kids, the youngest of whom is 11 and the eldest is 35.

“I know people would have their thoughts on who I am but there are many misconceptions,” the mother said.

“My children all finished Year 12 and they have always had a roof over their heads. They have amazing work ethic and I am very proud of them.”
