The folly of tech billionaire Richard White’s brief love nest foray in Vaucluse was reinforced when his former property fetched a bullish $15.1m at its auction this week.

The Dalley Ave house had been offloaded in February last year for a loss taking $11.5m by Maravillosa Properties Pty Ltd, a shelf company that emerged as associated with the Bexley-based billionaire who had used it as the abode of his then lover, the beauty entrepreneur Linda Rogan.

Maravillosa Properties lost $1.6m on the deal having paid $13.1m in September 2022.

During its six month ownership the six bedroom, four bathroom house got a decor fit out from interior designer Nellie Tilley for the White/Rogan duo.

White’s ownership was only revealed after White attempted to have Rogan bankrupted over the $91,000 fit out costs. The court case was abandoned this week with undisclosed settlement terms.

Their sexual relationship ended after purportedly “being discovered” by White’s then girlfriend, Zena Nasser, who is now his wife. Rogan alleged White had instructed his lawyers to lock her out of the house in November 2022, then leaving her out of pocket.

Rogan alleged White had expected sex in exchange for his investment in her wellness enterprise. These allegations were never tested in court.

The Vaucluse home was auctioned this week by Mark Chikarovski, who awaits his own day in court on another matter. Chikarovski will be sentenced on November 1 for his admitted role in a dark web drug supply operation.

Detectives raided the Vaucluse home and a Meriton, Bondi Junction rental apartment in May last year after drug trading was suspected in exchange for cryptocurrency using the vendor handle ‘AusCokeKing.’

Chikarovki pleaded guilty in June to drug charges including four related to the supply and possession of drugs.

The caveat taken on title by the NSW Crime Commission in May last year was withdrawn last month.

There were five bidders after the opening $13.5m bid. It had been listed with a $14m guide through Ray White agent Elliott Placks.
