Former Bachelorette Angie Kent has apologised after being caught drink-driving on her way to a picnic in Sydney earlier this month.

Reality star Angie Kent has been charged with a mid-range drink-driving offence.

The 31-year-old former Bachelorette has apologised after being caught while driving to a picnic in Sydney earlier this month.

“I was pulled over on my way to a picnic in early October,” Kent told The Daily Telegraph. “I had two drinks on an empty stomach while getting ready. I was shocked but totally in the wrong and I take full responsibility. I am deeply regretful and sorry.”

It was a first offence for Kent, who is usually based in Queensland but is living in Sydney while she has been filming the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.

She was pulled over for a random breath test about 4.45pm on Sunday, October 3, driving a Kia Cerato on the ramp to the Anzac Bridge in Pyrmont.

“The driver of the Kia — a 31-year-old woman with a QLD driver’s licence — was breath tested at the scene and provided a positive reading,” a police statement read.

Kent was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where she submitted a breath analysis reading of 0.081.

She was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for mid-range drink-driving and “her driving privileges in NSW were suspended”.

Kent is best known for her appearances on a string of big reality shows as well as for hosting a top podcast, Two Girls One Pod.

She started in show business as a member of the Gogglebox team alongside best mate Yvie Jones and the pair subsequently competed on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

She starred as The Bachelorette for the 2019 season and chose Carlin Sterritt as her love. The pair broke up several months later.

Kent is scheduled to appear at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, October 27.

Last week, meanwhile, Kent told the Telegraph that if she had her time again on The Bachelorette, she would have liked to appear as a pansexual.

She said she “didn’t know it was an option” until seeing promos for the next season of The Bachelorette, which will be a world first with both male and female contestants vying for the attention of bisexual Brooke Blurton.

“I have always been pansexual but I guess I have never really spoken about it,” Kent said. “It is a society thing. I never really got to explore it and now I am like, ‘go girl, get among it’.”

Of her time on The Bachelorette, she added: “I don’t feel cheated by it because I think that I wasn’t at the stage of probably exploring it myself. I have always been pansexual but I’ve never really spoken about it, only to my friends.

“I probably needed that time and the heartbreak to realise I wanted to explore it more. If I did it again, I would want that option. Everything happens for a reason.”

Pansexuality is to be attracted to a person regardless of their gender.

“Humans are humans, I don’t fall in love with the outer, I fall in love with the soul connection,” she said.

“I don’t care what you are, as long as we connect. Gender is not a massive thing for me and never really has been. I have always dated dudes because it was expected of me.”

As for her dating life now, Kent said she had recently begun exploring her options.

“I haven’t done much dating since my break-up, I am only just starting now and let’s just say I am not just on the straight scene anymore,” she said. “Life is for living.”
