Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall shopping in Byron Bay amid hubby’s I’m a Celeb UK elimination

Zara Tindall, granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has been doing a spot of shopping while waiting on rugby champ hubby Mike to emerge from “the jungle”.

(2012) Royal romances rife in Australia

Zara Tindall made time for bikini shopping in Byron Bay en route to support her husband Mike Tindall after he was eliminated from the UK version of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!

Zara, the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles’s niece, was the first royal to appear on the show when she greeted her husband as he exited the camp after 22 days.

Earlier, the 41-year-old had been spotted in Byron Bay, about an hour’s drive from “the jungle” in Murwillumbah where her husband had been filming.

Wearing a vivid summery dress, Zara visited local fashion store Spell, where she tried on a brightly patterned bikini in several sizes, before dropping into a few other boutiques.

After reuniting on screen, Zara and her former rugby champ husband travelled to a hotel in Surfers Paradise where they met up with Mike’s former campmates and their partners. The couple wrapped their arms around each other as they posed for pictures.

Mike’s stint on the show saw him give fascinating insights into the royal family and his relationship with Zara, who he married in 2011.

The couple met during the Rugby World Cup in Sydney in 2003, when Mike went for a drink after being dropped from England’s squad.

“First actual date, just went out for lunch and it ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed,” he told campmates.

Families and friends of contestants commonly stay at the five-star Versace hotel near to the camp, so they can be on the set when their loved ones get evicted from the show.

“Zara’s biggest worry is how loud I am when I eat,” Mike told the UK press. “She will be very happy if someone comments about how loud I breathe when I eat because it’s always a point that she brings up.”

Adding that Australia is a “special place,” and that he opted out of the reality show for the past two seasons because they were filmed in Wales.

Mike, 44, and Zara spend time Down Under every year, just after Christmas.

In the month of January, the couple usually head south to soak up the sun and enjoy the Magic Millions Classic – a Gold Coast Turf Club Thoroughbred horse race, of which Zara is an ambassador.

On Sunday, they reunited at the JW Marriott Gold Coast resort. Mike dressed in his jungle apparel – a red vest, matching red shorts and socks, with a sunhat in hand. Zara also dressed in monotone, wearing a chic denim jumpsuit that she paired with a white handbag and sneakers, as she carried her husband’s backpack.
