RISING acting star Brenna Harding hopes to follow in the footsteps of Aussie legend Heath Ledger.
The Puberty Blues star is among the 10 young actors nominated for this year’s Heath Ledger Scholarship.
“It is such a great group of people nominated,” Harding said.
“It is a very diverse group which I am proud to be a part of.”
Other nominees for the $40,000 prize include Aaron Glenane and Bethany Whitmore from acclaimed Foxtel series Picnic at Hanging Rock and Ezekiel Simat from High Life and Lambs of Gods.
The scholarship winner, to be named at Hollywood’s famous Chateau Marmont hotel next month, will receive travel to the US, drama and dialect coaching and help with rent in LA.
Harding knows the value of the prize, having seen good friends and former co-stars Lilly Sullivan and Ashleigh Cummins nominated in the past.
“I have seen first-hand how the scholarship can help people,” she said.
“I am excited about learning about the industry in LA and the people who I may get to meet.”
While she’s gunning for the scholarship, Harding has already made a foray into Hollywood — she appeared last year in an episode of acclaimed series Black Mirror, directed by Jodie Foster.
