Sydney fashion’s worst kept secret has been confirmed.
Influencer, socialite and business woman Pip Edwards has returned to Ksubi as creative director, back where her fashion career started two decades ago.
“From its inception, Ksubi has been at the core of the global cultural zeitgeist, thriving at the intersection of where fashion, art, and music meet,” Edwards said.
“Having been part of the original crew 20 years ago, I’m so excited to join the talented team at Ksubi once again and contribute to their already impressive global success.”
Rumours have swirled about Edwards return to Ksubi for several weeks, having started when she stepped down from the brand she founded, PE Nation.
Details around her departure from the brand remain a mystery, although it has been long suggested Edwards fell out with co-founder Claire Tregoning.
The move came just a few months after PE Nation’s massive brand relaunch at Australian Fashion Week.
“My time leading the brand as creative director has been an incredible run, and while I am handing over that role, I am maintaining my P.E. Nation directorship and substantial shareholding,” Edwards said in a statement.
“I am forever grateful for and proud of what we have created, and P.E. Nation will always be in my heart and soul. As the brand grew, I grew. And much like the re/birth of P.E. Nation, it is now time for me to pursue my personal Re/Creation era.”
Streetwear brand Ksubi refused to return calls this week when contacted about the upcoming announcement.
She and Ksubi bosses are currently in New York and have shared numerous photographs to social media teasing the ‘big announce’.
Ksubi was founded in 1999 and has been worn by celebrities including Travis Scott, Kendall Jenner and Patty Mills.
Edwards personal life meanwhile has been the subject of as much interest as her career over the years. She has an adult son with former Ksubi creative Dan Single and was controversially in an on again off again relationship with former Australian Cricket Captain Michael Clarke.
