WHAT else do you do when you’re caught in the middle of a messy divorce?
Well, put on a frock, head out to a popular Sydney eatery with your children and share the happy moment on social media is the option the estranged wife of NRL star Sam Burgess chose.
Phoebe Burgess looked glowing with happiness as she appeared to put her bitter divorce to one side to enjoy a day out with the couple’s young children, Poppy and Billy.
“Magical morning out (with Frozen and Santa obvs) (adoring this time of year now Poppy is old enough to get excited about the magic of Christmas),” aspiring media identity Phoebe Burgess wrote on Instagram.
Phoebe is understood to have been taken by surprise by images published in The Daily Telegraph this week showing her ex with American waitress Oak Schuetz.
The footballer met Schuetz, 27, at Sydney CBD Establishment bar on Thursday night, where he chatted her up, asking: “what are you drinking?” They later returned to his Coogee home.
But after their four-day whirlwind romance, Ms Schuetz said the English “gentleman” turned his back on her after their liaison became public.
On Monday she said the former Rabbitohs star would not return her calls after she told The Daily Telegraph the two had been dating for four days since meeting at a bar in the CBD.
Ms Schuetz said she did not know if the footballer would ever contact her again.

Burgess and his wife of four years split in September for the second time after failing to reconcile their differences.
The mother of two has maintained a dignified silence since their separation was revealed, instead spending much of her time at her parents’ Bowral property.
It’s been a tumultuous few months for the 30-year-old journalist, whose father, former Minerals Council of Australia chief executive Mitchell Hooke, took out an AVO against her ex-husband earlier this year following an incident at his Bowral home last month.
Burgess was later charged with intimidation.
She has also watched on as her 30-year-old estranged husband celebrated the 50th birthday of NRL star Sean Garlick on a cruise in Mexico where he was seen mingling with bikini clad women. Then last month it was revealed Sam Burgess had been messaging Married At First Sight tragic Jessika Power.
Yesterday, The Daily Telegraph revealed Sam Burgess had received a multimillion-dollar long-term job offer with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the champion forward will be employed in an administration role should the NRL grant his request to be medically retired from the game with the shoulder injury.
Burgess is still on a $3.6 million three-year contract at South Sydney.
