DJ Tigerlily had one major concern before agreeing to strip for her first lingerie campaign.
The musician, whose real name is Dara Hayes, insisted her images not be doctored in any way, which is common practice in the advertising and modelling industries.
“Not being a model by trade and being a DJ and a performer, being booked to do a shoot like this was quite intimidating,” Tigerlily told Confidential. “They don’t photoshop any of their images so they really encourage you to show up as you are, so that made me feel really confident going into the shoot knowing that they weren’t going to be criticising me for a stomach roll or cellulite.”
Tigerlily joins the likes of Olivia Vasquez, Oceana Strachan and Shimma Marie in Bras N Things Valentine’s Day campaign, My Love Is.
“I did a shoot for a big magazine a couple of years ago and they photoshopped me so I didn’t even look like myself,” she recalled. “I had to ask them to unphotoshop it all and just use the raw images and I don’t think they were very happy about that.”
She continued: “I like my freckles and I like the way my body looks and I am proud of how I look and so I want people to see that and not see some smoothed over Barbie looking thing.”
To prepare for the shoot, Tigerlily said she generally “eats very healthily so it wasn’t a big lifestyle overhaul”.
