While COVID-19 might have hindered some people’s ability to head to the track for the upcoming Everest Carnival, it doesn’t mean you still can’t dress up.
Style Stakes is the new virtual fashion competition from the ATC that will allow people to enter their race wear look, whether they be attending the track or watching from their living room, by uploading a photo or video to www.theraces.com.au/stylestakes.
Ambassador Nikki Phillips said the new competition is an amazing opportunity for people to get out of their leisurewear and dress up.
“With everything that’s been going on in the world, it’s nice to be able to dress up again,” Phillips told The Daily Telegraph.
“And those who might be a little nervous or get stage fright at the track can still take part.”

Phillips, a fashion blogger, will be the judge of the competition on the Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes day at Royal Randwick and said she’ll be looking for people who can bring an “edge”.
“It’s a chance for people to be a bit more experimental, but still keeping it sophisticated,” she said.

The mother of two adds that now is not the time for the mini dress or crop top, instead encouraging people to express their style and personality through accessories.
For those who plan to make it out to the track, there will be strict guidelines to keep everyone COVID safe. Each guest entering with will be temperature checked and COVID-safe marshals will be on hand to ensure social distancing is adhered to.
