FOR a Hollywood A-lister, Nicole Richie looked more like an average tourist out and about in Sydney yesterday.
Wearing a black tank, cut-off shorts and big sunglasses, Richie seemed to go mostly unnoticed as she mixed in with local and other tourists during much of her sightseeing around the Harbour City.
The daughter of music legend Lionel Richie is in town with her family — husband Joel Madden and their children Harlow, 10, and Sparrow, 8 — and Joel’s twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Benji ahead of the rockers’ Sydney concerts.
Dwarfed by an enormous Goyard beach tote, the former reality TV star still looked to be quite slight of frame, years after saying she was “too thin” and a bad role model for young girls.
At the time a bad breakup was blamed for her dramatic drop in weight, with Richie saying: “I’m not happy with the way I look right now.”
Although still slender, Richie looked radiant as she, Joel and Benji boarded a boat for an afternoon on the water.
There was no sign of Benji’s wife, Hollywood star Cameron Diaz.
Despite the sightseeing, Richie and her family are no strangers to Sydney, having lived here for several months while Joel was a coach on The Voice Australia.
Good Charlotte play the Hordern Pavilion tonight and a Channel V fan event on The Island on Tuesday.
