Police had to separate Nick Kyrgios and his on-again, off-again girlfriend on Thursday night following a verbal altercation.
The police intervention came after Chiara Passari made explosive claims about the Australian tennis star to her 52,000 social media followers, sharing what she said was the controversial sportsman in bed with a “naked girl”.
“So many messages worried if I’m still in a room with him,” Passari wrote. “The police moved him to a different room (they were horrible to me) and of course only had Nick’s best interests not mine.”
South Australian police confirmed the altercation with The Saturday Telegraph on Friday.
“In the afternoon of Thursday 7 October 2021, police were alerted to a verbal argument between two occupants within a Medi-hotel,” a police spokesman wrote.
“An investigation was conducted, no offences were disclosed and both parties will now spend the remainder of their quarantine in separate rooms.”
The Instagram model also claimed Kyrgios called her a “bum, lazy and a jobless loser” for quitting her job and travelling with him on the international travel circuit.
“Yeah I did quit my job and move out of my apartment to travel with him and he constantly put me down … because I wasn’t able to get a job straight away while travelling,” she wrote in an Instagram story. The pair are in quarantine in Adelaide after returning from the US.
Passari has also opened up about rumours Kyrgios was close to pop star and The Voice coach Rita Ora after Confidential noted the pair followed each other on Instagram.
“They were texting each other and sending photos,” she wrote.
“She tried to get him to come to her house … I have no idea if he ever went to her house. He bragged about it for weeks to his friends.”
In February, Passari asked her followers if they had attended popular Melbourne nightclub OneSixOne in the past three weeks, and then posted and deleted explosive messages.
Just last month, the tennis bad boy paid tribute to Passari on social media following his loss at the US Open.
After the first round defeat, Kyrgios posted a series of images of himself in New York alongside Passari, who was seated in the player’s box during his game.
“I know I’m hard work from time to time, but it takes a special person to look after me. Appreciate you,” he captioned the post.
The pair first started dating in July 2020.
