Natalie Bassingthwaighte headlines Everest Carnival Fashion Lunch
Natalie Bassingthwaighte and her family have been riding out the coronavirus pandemic in NSW’s growing celeb hotspot Byron Bay. If the Aussie star hadn’t sold her Melbourne pad earlier this year she’d be locked down in a different kind of hotspot right now.

When Natalie Bassingthwaighte hits the stage for her next gig it will have been eight months since she last performed live.
The actor and singer has watched helplessly as the entertainment industry has been brought to its knees.
“This is the first one,” she said as she was announced as headline act at the Everest Carnival Fashion Lunch on October 8.
“Most of us are dying to get back on stage and I am definitely one of those people.
“For me to be able to get up there and perform at the carnival will be really fun and I am sure everyone is keen to get out, get amongst it, get dressed up and put a heel on — if I still know how to walk in heels.
“I’ll put some makeup on, get out of my trackies and glam it up a little bit.”
The fashion event is a key date in the lead-up to the fourth annual The TAB Everest Day at Randwick Racecourse on October 17.

Bassingthwaighte, musician husband Cameron McGlinchey and their two kids Harper and Hendrix sold their Melbourne home and moved to Byron Bay just as coronavirus hit.
They are looking to buy in the area — now even more of a celebrity hotspot thanks to Nicole Kidman’s latest TV production, Nine Perfect Strangers, shooting there.
“We sold our house, we did everything in the right order without realising what was going to unfold,” she explained.
“We are feeling very grateful and very blessed. It has been such a rollercoaster for so many people so we are feeling very lucky.”
Bassingthwaighte, 44, has kept herself busy through coronavirus, working on new music as well as studying French and piano and doing a renovation course.
“I never really sit still,” she said.
