Plastic surgery, Botox and lip fillers have become the go-to for image-conscious Millennials but model, Ksenija Lukich, says young women in particular should avoid rushing into invasive procedures.
The E! Australia host told Confidential that while she doesn’t have any issues with plastic surgery, it’s important to consider less invasive alternatives first.
“I don’t have any issues with it, you do what makes you happy. I can’t say that I wouldn’t not do it in the future but I think it’s come so far that you don’t have to go the surgical route to get great results,’ she said at the AHC skincare launch in Sydney.
“There has been a lot of advancement in not just skincare but also skincare treatments from lasers to all these sorts of things. Surgery doesn’t have to be your final option … particularly for young women I think it’s important to start with skincare rather than jumping straight to surgery.
“I feel like we should be conscious of what we’re encouraging young women to do. So I think it’s nice to encourage a good skincare routine, good sun care, preventive stuff and then if surgery is something you want to do down the line then so be it.”
Lukich, who was recently named an ambassador for Korean brand AHC, said like most women she wasn’t always comfortable in her own skin.
“I think as you get older you become more confident and comfortable. I modelled for 10 years so I had my fair share of insecurities, being a young woman in that industry can be challenging,” she said.
The 29-year-old said skincare brands like AHC are the perfect alternative to plastic surgery or cosmetic enhancements.
“Korean skincare has been on my radar for a long time and I think anyone in the beauty world knows that the Koreans know skincare,” she said.
“So when they approached me to be the brand ambassador I was absolutely thrilled to be involved.”
When she’s not busy with her ambassador duties, Lukich is enjoying married life and she recently celebrated her third wedding anniversary with lawyer husband Dan Bragg.
“It’s really good, we just celebrated three years,” she said.
