The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, held hands as they emerged from Sydney airport today to the gloom of an unusually wet October morning with the Premier promising “surprises” by the royal couple.
All eyes were on the 37 year-old former actress, who looked glowing after the exhausting 21 hour flight from London. (Meg – we all want to know what kind of magic you weaved to look that good after that flight?)
Both Harry and Meghan gave small waves to airport workers standing nearby, with Meghan flashing her megawatt Markle smile when they yelled out “Welcome to Australia”.
Dressed in tight trousers and a loose black coat with burgundy lapels, she was clutching two mysterious purple folders, believed to contain briefing notes for the tour – but which prompted some royal watchers to wonder if they were there to hide a baby bump.
Adding to the speculation was the fact that Meghan, Harry and baby were trending on Twitter this morning.

The former Suits star only last month set tongues wagging over what appeared to be her fuller figure when she appeared at an official charity function in London.
On Friday, the Duke and Duchess had left the wedding of Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank early on Friday to prepare for their flight – and the navy blue Givenchy coat she wore, left unbuttoned over her stomach, caused inevitable questions over whether she might be pregnant.
Australians would be thrilled if the royal couple were to announce a pregnancy while they are here.
Prince Harry appeared to be sporting a bump to the head, but he, too, appeared relaxed, putting his own bag in the boot of the car before the couple was whisked away in a motorcade, to roads cleared for them by police. The car, bearing the royal standard, arrived to small crowds outside Admiralty House, in Kirribilli, where they will stay.
Their choice of a Qantas flight rather than British Airways which landed an hour earlier and on which they were expected, will no doubt please Australians.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said it was “so exciting” to welcome Harry and Meghan to Australia.
“I have to say it’s really, really a full packed visit, they will be doing so much here,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“There are also a few surprises which I think everybody will love. But it’s really a visit with the poeple.”
