THE nation already knows his pants size but it's filling the shoes of dumped Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands that has Jay Dee Springbett "more than a little nervous".
Confirming the worst-kept secret in TV, size 40 Springbett was more comfortable talking about his waistline than comparisons with the controversial shock jock he is replacing.
Already showing a diplomacy his predecessor lacked, the Sony Music executive would not be drawn into Sandilands being dumped as Channel 10 moved to distance the family-friendly program from the fallout over the 2DayFM star's radio rape scandal.
"What happened happened and Ten made its decision," the ex-pat Englishman said. "I always thought Kyle was a good guy . . . but I'd rather focus on that than get drawn into the drama of it all."
