Chef Matt Moran is opening another outpost of his Woollahra restaurant Chiswick.
The restaurant, where celebrities like Rita Ora and Taika Waititi have been spotted, will now pop up at Opera Bar.
Moran along with his Executive Chef Fernando Sanchez is introducing a pre-theatre menu to the Harbourside venue, which he runs.
The pop-up has space for 26 guests inside the Raw Bar indoor space, and unlike the other food menu at Opera Bar, it will be table service.
It’s a set menu that cost $80pp, however for that guests are treated to a glass of Chandon Rose on arrival, Shared Entrée of Sonoma sourdough, tomato butter, Barra-masalata, vegetable chips, Beef tartare, pickled king brown, crisps and then a choice of mains from pan-roasted snapper with fennel and sauce gribiche to roast chicken with braised brassicas and Jerusalem artichoke.
“Bringing the planted-to-plated magic of Chiswick to Opera Bar under the sails of the Sydney Opera House is something a little different and fun we wanted to create for theatregoers,” said Moran.
“We’ve curated a menu that highlights many of Chiswick’s most popular dishes to enjoy with table service right here in one of the best locations in the city.”
Moran opened the garden, planted to plate restaurant in 2012 and since then it’s been a staple on Sydney’s dining scene.
The Chiswick pop up will be operating from 5 through to 29 August from 5pm, Mondays – Thursdays to complement Opera House show times.
