Martine Chippendale joins cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney

Meet Martine Chippendale, the “Double Bay Princess”, who can say what she means without being mean and that’s how she handled the drama on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Sydney.

Meet Sydney’s new Real Housewife

Meet the new Real Housewife of Sydney – “Darling Point’s glamorous life-size Barbie”.

Also described as a “Double Bay Princess”, The Daily Telegraph can confirm Martine Chippendale is the new cast member on hit BINGE reality show, The Real Housewives of Sydney that premieres on February 25.

“I think it is a huge compliment, Barbie is an icon and she has made a big comeback lately,” Chippendale said.

“So I am thrilled to be associated with the title.”

Chippendale, 42, is married to retired banker John, 19 years her senior, and the couple have two young children, aged four and seven.

She joins returning housewives Kate Adams, Terry Biviano, Nicole O’Neil, Caroline Gaultier, Sally Obermeder, Krissy Marsh and Victoria Montano.

Expect another season filled with drama.

“I do think in order to live a life of adventure, you do have to take some chances,” Chippendale said of signing on to the show.

“I definitely went through a thought process of should I or should I not (do the show) but I don’t want to look back when I am at the end of my time on this earth and think that I didn’t give things a go so that was my thought process. And it has actually turned out fine, I am glad I’ve done it.”

On how she tackles the drama, Chippendale said: “I can say what I mean but I don’t say it mean. I always come from a place of respect and I never go low so even if I am in drama, at least I can walk away knowing that I have done the right thing and that my family can feel proud of me.”

Chippendale said she was “disappointed” at times by her fellow cast members behaviour while filming.

“I used to work in human resources for many years and that can be quite aggressive. It wasn’t as confronting but I was disappointed by some things.”

Chippendale has a nanny to help with her children and said her approach to motherhood is to be “hands on”.

“We have help but I would say that I work as a team with the people that we have helping us,” she said.

“I just want to be involved, that was important to me before I had children. My mum was around and I wanted to be really involved.”

Aesthetically, Chippendale said she is all about “maintenance”.

“I don’t think my look is like a plastic surgery look but I definitely like a maintenance look so I am really keen on maintaining,” she explained.

“I definitely do injectibles, that is probably it, I don’t really like an enhanced look. An anti-ageing approach is my focus rather than making things bigger or smaller.”

Real Housewives of Sydney premieres on BINGE at 1.30pm on February 25 with new episodes dropping weekly.
