She was one of the most controversial brides on the hit reality TV show, now it’s been revealed MAFS contestant Stacey Hampton spent some time in court before becoming a lawyer. This comes as prepares to launch her post-natal depression charity.

Just as she is about to launch a post-natal depression charity, it has been revealed MAFS contestant Stacey Hampton was charged with a dishonesty offence, although the charge was later dropped.

Sunday Confidential can reveal the controversial bride was charged by South Australian police after allegedly dishonestly obtaining a benefit from the Department of Education between 2014 and 2015.

In 2015 she was charged with one count of deceive another to benefit self, with six appearances in the Magistrates Court of South Australia between August 2015 and March 2016, after which the charge was withdrawn by the prosecution.

It was alleged she claimed almost $4000 in payments and “deceived various members of the Department of Education family day care and claimed childcare she wasn’t entitled to”, which she denied.

Hampton has gone on to complete her law degree and be admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia.

When contacted, she emphasised the charge was dropped after the police investigation.

She said she informed the SA Law Society about the matter, and was determined to be fit and proper to be admitted as a lawyer.
