Top Aussie model Montana Cox has revealed a surprise skill that could lead to the next phase of her career in the public eye.
The 31-year-old is an avid foodie and is hopeful of one day releasing her own cookbook, fronting a TV show or perhaps opening her own eatery.
“I am a phenomenal cook and I don’t think people know that,” Cox told The Daily Telegraph.
“Starting a business of cooking for people or just getting people get excited about food and showing people that I can cook very well. I have always been interested, I know how to make everything, I cook for all of my friends every weekend. I think I just want to explore that.”
Cox’s go-to dish is pasta.
“But I can cook anything. It is really my true hobby and my true passion,” she said, adding that she is “obsessed” with reality television show, MasterChef.
“The next step would be cooking on TV, having people come on cooking with them and then eventually going into something a bit deeper or even opening something myself.”
The model has been working at the top level for almost 15 years, having won season seven of Australia’s Next Top Model as a teenager back in 2011.
She’s worked with top brands here and abroad and on Wednesday fronted the launch of new Australian lingerie brand, Leays, at ARIA Restaurant.
“I really own who I am now,” she said.
“It is honestly in the past couple of years that I’ve really settled into my skin, I’ve owned myself and loved myself and my body, which is a really beautiful and powerful thing. I love who I am and feel really confident and I think you kind of need that to stand in front of the Sydney Opera House in your lingerie.”
