BRITISH singer Lily Allen has touched down in Sydney to announce a national tour of Australia in February, days after revealing she slept with female escorts during the break down of her marriage.
The 33-year-old Smile singer will perform a run of shows starting at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on February 5 and taking in dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
The Australian tour announcement comes after it was revealed at the weekend the mother of two would discuss sleeping with women during her marriage split from builder Sam Cooper in her forthcoming autobiography, My Thoughts Exactly.
“Sooo, in my book … I detail some stuff from my dark days, around the Sheezus era,” Allen wrote on Instagram.
“I slept with female escorts when I was on tour, cause I was lost and lonely and looking for something. I’m not proud, but I’m not ashamed. I don’t do it anymore.”
Allen and Cooper married in 2011 but confirmed their split in 2016 following more than a year of speculation. Her album Sheezus was released in 2014.
Allen’s fourth studio album, No Shame, was released in June.
“No Shame marks a kind of rebirth for Lily, who went back to the drawing board after several tumultuous years, eventually producing a beautifully raw and truthful set of classic pop songs that take her right back to the DIY spirit of her first two albums Alright, Still (2006) and It’s Not Me, It’s You (2011),” Frontier Touring wrote in a press release.
