Kate Beckinsale’s close-call on the red carpet at British GQ Awards

SHE spent five films fighting werewolves, but yesterday Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale was battling to keep her own privates under wraps at the GQ Awards. There was also a strong Aussie contingent in attendance.

SHE spent five films fighting werewolves, but yesterday Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale was battling to keep her own Underworld under wraps.

Clad in what seemed to be a scarlet, tie-dyed bedsheet wrapped over burlesque-style undies, the 45-year-old star of the Underworld movies walked the British GQ Men of the Year Awards red carpet at London’s Tate Modern.

Luckily a wardrobe assistant helped her avoid any awkward malfunctions.

The swimsuit-sarong was created by Welsh designer Julien Macdonald as part of his 2018 spring collection.

It wasn’t the only eyebrow-raiser at the event, attended by the likes of Prince Charles, Kylie Minogue, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher.

American actor Rose McGowan, who helped kick off the #MeToo movement, became the first woman to receive the Inspiration prize.
