Is rugby league’s rising star Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii off the market?

It certainly looked like it at Bondi Beach on Sunday with the Sydney Roosters outside back snapped spending time in the waves with a brunette companion.

Suaalii, 20, at the end of 2024 will jump ship to rugby union in a deal rumoured to be worth around $5 million.

That will place him as the highest earning athlete in either code.

He was personally pursued by besieged Rugby Australia Chairman Hamish McLennan in a bid to reinvigorate the ailing sport as a great hope for the game.

Suaalii was born in Penrith to parents of Samaon and Cambodian heritage.

He went to The King’s School in Parramatta and is the nephew of Aussie boxerPaulo Aokuso.

At Bondi, Suaalii was seen in the water and on the sand with a group of friends that included the beautiful brunette.

At one point, kicked a football on the beach with a male friend while his companion played catch with a tennis ball with her friends.

The swim came just days before Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary was spotted with Socceroos star Mary Fowler.
