After JoJo Siwa’s reality TV journey ended, so did her relationship with Aussie partner Kath Ebbs.
The influencer confirmed the break-up in an emotional Instagram video on Saturday, revealing they were left in “a state of shock” after Siwa abruptly ended their relationship at the Celebrity Big Brother UK afterparty.
The split comes in the wake of Siwa’s flirtatious behaviour with fellow housemate Chris Hughes, which stirred up plenty of speculation.
The two were seen getting physically playful during the reality show, fuelling romance rumours — though Hughes later denied anything serious was going on.
Hughes also attended the afterparty bash.
“I’m filming this in a complete state of shock,” Ebbs said in the now-deleted video.
“After two weeks of watching things unfold from a distance and not being able to get clarity from the person involved.”
Ebbs, 27, said they flew eight hours to attend the live taping of the finale in support of Siwa, only to be blindsided by the break-up.
“I was dumped at the after-party,” Ebbs said.
“With Chris in the next room.
“I was told that there are confused feelings there — do with that what you will — and that they had realised in the house that I wasn’t the person that they wanted to spend the foreseeable future with.”
The influencer also described experiencing what they believed was “love bombing” in the relationship, and claimed Siwa had proposed prior to entering the Big Brother house.
“Being told I’m the love of someone’s life, being asked to marry them, then being hurt by what I saw on the show but still showing up and hoping for an honest conversation — and instead being further humiliated in a weird way,” Ebbs said.
The break up also comes just days after Siwa’s epiphany where she publicly shared she was “queer” rather than a lesbian on the April 22 episode of Big Brother.
According to Ebbs, what viewers witnessed on the show amounted to “emotional cheating” and a serious “over crossing of boundaries.”
“It took that person less than an hour to follow through,” Ebbs said.
“In terms of Mr. Christopher, I don’t know. I have opinions, I’m not gonna say them now. In terms of their relationship, that’s their journey, enjoy.”
Siwa, who placed third on the show, had gone public with Ebbs in January.
The couple were spotted together multiple times in Sydney, sharing kisses and appearing very much in love before confirming their romance.
