IT was always going to be an extravagant affair.
Deborah Symond, the fashion loving daughter of Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond, and Ned O’Neil, the son of wealthy property magnate and yachtie Denis O’Neil, tied the knot in a no-expense spared fairytale wedding this weekend.
The spectacular ceremony was the highlight of a three-day extravaganza at luxury Queensland resort Qualia, after an “epic” rehearsal dinner kicked off festivities on Thursday night.
Just 120 family and close friends, including father John Symond and his wife Amber, Deborah’s mother Kerrie and partner Murray Fox, and Neville and Nadi Crichton, gathered at Pebble Beach for the high-society wedding.
Missing from the wedding party was the groom’s cousin, Adam, and his celebrity wife Nicole Gazal O’Neil of Real Housewives Of Sydney fame. According to sources the couple, who are in New York, were not invited.
After documenting herself in designer pre-wedding threads by Roksanda, Mara Hoffman and Zimmermann, Symond chose Dior for the big day, walking down the aisle in a nude, corsetted and tiered tulle gown, which was last seen on the runway in the designer’s spring 2017 show.
The couture creation was custom made for the bride following numerous trips to Paris for fittings.
Symond’s bridal party comprised Pip Ganderton, Poppy O’Neil, Nicky Oatley, Kirsten Wenban and Elani Miles.
