Double Bay has long been a location where notable names go to wine and dine, however, they aren’t all going to Neil Perry’s Margaret.
Over the weekend, newcomer Roxy’s was getting a lot of celebrity traffic.
2GB radio host Ben Fordham organised a birthday lunch for wife, journalist Jodie Speers, there on Friday.
Speers, who is the early morning news presenter on Channel 7, was joined by fellow television journalist Jessica Ridley and former radio producer turned media adviser Harriet Glenn.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, former Channel 7 presenter Sally Obermeder paid the Double Bay hotspot a visit.
Obermeder, who owns Swiish, said on Instagram she was happy to be supporting local hospitality before joking, “not going to lie I’m a little out of practice going out so much.”
The restaurant/bar is behind Margaret, and is the latest offering from chef and owner Damien Monley, from Flat White Cafe.
After working in the Southern Highlands, Monley returned to Sydney and was due to launch Roxy’s during lockdown.
But the setback only made visitors more hungry to try his food, inspired by what he likes to cook at home.
